An Unsatisfied Customer 5/25/08

Each and every time I've ordered food, I get new untrained employees. There is a high school near by and 90% of the employees are these kids who are in charge of new rules and policies. They make mistakes on my credit card and food orders. Many times I have almost eaten half cooked chicken. Never have they apologized or corrected there mistakes. Just tonight they made a $1.49 mistake. Instead of just ignoring my inconvenience of their stupidity, she charged my card again. My family and I have already made our decision to NEVER eat at KFC again.

I have very fond memories of trips up to the lake when I was a kid some 40 odd years ago. The smells and tastes that came from that KFC bucket were simply amazing. Like most everything else things change and not always for the better. KFC chicken for example has slowly gone downhill over the years. Today's KFC just isn't the same. Too much commercialism and trying to pinch pennies. The attention to details is no where near what it once was. Seems like they'll hire anybody nowadays, trained or not. I'm so glad this site exists and people really care about the "original recipe" and are making great strides to duplicate it in this day and age! Hats off to all of you trying to figure it out. I've been reading along and collecting spices, even bought a pressure cooker I can use oil in. (scary I know but.....). I just want to say "Hi" to all the members here and look forward to researching along to duplicate that taste I so well remember as a kid. Happy Trails, Jack

We used to go to KFC quite a bit, but ours has been very dirty for quite some time and it's run by a bunch of kids. We hadn't gone to KFC for about a year and about a month ago decided to try it again. After all, they just remodeled the restaurant. How bad can it be?

There was trash running over and on the floor, the counter around the drink machine was supposed to be white, but it was the color of Pepsi. The tables were dirty.

The biggest reason we stopped going was the amount of broken bones we were finding. Especially the wings. Even the chickens are going to end up on our tables, there is no reason for the cruelty. Absolutely none. Nothing has changed in that area either.

The chicken was greasy. And it didn't even remotely taste like KFC. Had I been blindfolded, I would not have known what I was eating. The taste just wasn't there.

Back on 'our list' KFC goes.

It's really sad to see how much effort, and energy Colonel Sanders gave to his chicken, not to mention all the years he spent perfecting it, go down in the gutter. He would be very upset and he'd have a good reason to be.

Everything comes down to money and greed and KFC is no different. The big wigs at the top had no respect for Colonel Sanders, but were only interested in their bank accounts.

Frankly, I don't remember what the chicken tasted like back in the 60s, because I think I only had it once, maybe twice. We lived out in the middle of nowhere and fast food restaurants just didn't exist in our neck of the woods. My husband says he remembers what it tasted like, so I use him as my taste tester! LOL The last test we did, his response - Not even close!! LOL Back to the drawing board.
